April is the month for celebrating spring and the appearance of daffodils throughout the village and along scenic Route 6A and all of the back roads and trails. Everywhere you look you see their little yellow faces reaching for the warmth of the sun.
On Saturday, April 26th, as part of the 375th Anniversary Celebration, the Sandwich Daffodil Festival will be held at Oakcrest Cove Park on Quaker Meetinghouse Road. The gate opens at 10:00 am and the festivities will run until 4:00 pm. There will be musical performances, artists tents displaying work by local artists featuring painters, potters, stained glass artists, photographers, folk artists, and jewelers. Stunning gardening and floral displays and presentations and musical performances will run throughout the day. The New England Food Truck Association will offer a variety of breakfast and lunch foods for adults and children.
The festival features a Kids Zone with crafts, face painting, and special performances just for the
kiddies. There will be craft sessions for kids ages 2 through 5 and sessions for kids ages 6 and above.
A complete schedule of events and a listing of musical performers and food vendors is available on the 375th Anniversary website and admission to the festival is free.
